Marion, Penelope, Nicole and Kate presents the latest issue of US Vogue November 2009. Looks like they may have merged the location shot with a studio shot as Penelope and Marion’s outfits are different to the ones we saw in the candids.

This is really interesting. Such a departure from Vogue that it almost doesn’t feel like one of their covers. They are all washed up and washed out looking. Marion is the only one who’s giving some kind of mood to the cover. Nicole looks very much like an uncomfortable drag queen. The red lip is so bad. Penelope’s face is lacking and the other girl isn’t even trying.

Annie Leibovitz shot this cover and basically it could have been epic, unfortunatley someone just had a little bit too much fun photoshopping it. However, if you ignore the photoshop job, it is a great picture with beautiful lighting and much better than many other VOGUE US covers.
